The float glass production line monitoring system is an integrated platform that deeply integrates process control (DCS), quality management (QCS), drive control, intelligent analysis, and energy management. Its core is the ABB Ability™ System 800xA extended automation system.
System Core Architecture and Functions
Process Control System (PCS): Core Platform: ABB Ability™ System 800xA as a unified DCS platform. Control Scope: Centralized monitoring and automated control of the entire float glass process, including: melting section, forming tin bath section, annealing furnace section, and cold end cutting and stacking.
Quality Management System (QMS/QCS): Online measuring equipment, glass thickness gauge, stress gauge, surface defect detection system, data integration.
Drive Control System: Inverter application, synchronization and coordination.
Safety Instrumented System (SIS): Emergency Stop (ESD), Fire Safety Management System (BSM).
Digitalization and Advanced Applications (ABB Ability™): Performance monitoring and optimization, predictive maintenance, energy management, and remote access.
