ABB's furnace control system is a comprehensive system integrating combustion control, pressure control, reversing control, furnace safety, and advanced optimization. Its core is built on the ABB Ability™ System 800xA platform.
Core System Control Loops
- Furnace Temperature Control (Combustion Control) - The Core of the System Control Objective: To maintain absolute temperature stability and a reasonable temperature distribution curve at all points in the furnace (e.g., melting section, refining section, bottleneck, cooling section).
- Furnace Pressure Control Control Objective: To maintain a slight positive pressure inside the furnace (typically 20-50 Pa). Excessive pressure can cause flame ejection and damage to the furnace body; insufficient pressure will draw in cold air, reducing efficiency and affecting temperature.
- Glass Level Control Control Objective: To stabilize the glass level inside the furnace; fluctuations directly affect the uniformity of glass strip thickness and the continuity of production.
- Reversing Control Control Objective: To periodically switch the flow direction of fuel oil/gas and combustion air on the left and right sides of the furnace, ensuring uniform heating and extending the furnace life.
